The Summer Grand Prix started this weekend, with not one but two events. On Saturday it was time for the annual 3-way mob match against the Windermilers and Fulham running club, with the Wimbledon club hosting, and Stragglers turning out in force. We do like a mob match!

James Ruskin was the first Straggler to finish the Wimbledon parkrun 5k in a time of 17:46, just three seconds behind Graham Pattle of Fulham who was third finisher among all the parkrunners.
Patricia Ronksley was the first Straggler woman to finish in a time of 22:44 and was second among all the women competing in the mob match. Overall Stragglers won the match with the most participants - 66 - to Windmilers' 54 and 18 from Fulham. We also had the better results with 13 of the first finishers wearing yellow, as well as seven of the fastest 10 women in the match.

On the Sunday, a smaller but equally keen group of Stragglers competed in the second GP event, the Sutton 10k. Alex McKenna was the first Straggler to finish in 39:24 while Lucy Chambers was the first woman to finish for the club in a time of 48:51.
Further afield, Sophie Biggs was the fourth female finisher at the Rureifel 66k Ultra in Germany while Sara Winder was second woman at a 25k ultra trail in Haslemere. And Robert Hodge achieved a new marathon PB in Newport with a time of 3:15:55 while Ewan Taylor finished in 3:36:27.
