Stragglers' Awards night held on Saturday at HQ, otherwise known as Bushy Parks Sports Club, attracted a large crowd. Chef Guy provided a great spread for the 90 club members who braved the cold to attend the event.
Fifty four members won an award during the year across a number of events including the Winter and Summer Grand Prix and the handicap series. Pete Gregorowski won the most awards having won his age group as well as the overall men's events in both grand prix.
Among the women, Eliza Hawthorn, Merilyn Davis and Sally Boulton all ended the evening with three awards each. Eliza won the Winter Grand Prix, as well as her age group, and the club 10k championships, while Merilyn and Sally won age groups awards in addition to most improved female runner and Winter Grand Prix hero award respectively.
Joshua Ingold was most improved male runner while Sophie Elloy a graduate from our first Couch to 5k class, was awarded best newcomer.
